The list, as every year, does not include cartoons, documentaries, reality shows and kids series (titles where main cast or over 50% of actors are under 16). ABCMarvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D” [RENEWED] (formerly “S.H.I.E.L.D.”) Marvel universe superhero adjuscent show from writer-director Joss Whedon exploring backstage work of Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division as known from “The Avengers”. Pilot ordered end of August 2012. Full 22 episode season pickup in October 2013. FOXAlmost Human” [CANCELLED] Warner Bros. TV/Bad Robot-produced J.J. Abrams sci fi procedural set in not too distant future where LAPD cops are partnered with human resembling androids. Pilot production commitment was announced in early September 2012. Pilot ordered in late January 2013. Cast: Michael Ealy, Lili Taylor, Michael Irby, Mackenzie Crook, Minka Kelly, Karl Urban, Mekia Cox.  FOX Mondays 8:00/7:00c Premiered Sunday, November 17, 2013. Continues Monday, November 18, 2013. Cancelled after airing 13 episodes.

CBSIntelligence” [CANCELLED] high concept drama about a man with a top-secret experimental microchip implanted in his brain but with more serious approach than Jake 2.0, Chuck or tons of other shows that had similar premise. The CW “Star-Crossed”  [CANCELLED] (formerly: “Oxygen”) alien drama following near future high school program attempting to integrate a group of stranded and forcefully segregated humanoid aliens with general teenage population. Picked to series in early May 2013. Cast: Aimee Teegarden, Grey Damon, Matt Lanter, Natalie Hall, Malese Jow, Chelsea Gilligan, Greg Finley, Titus Makin Jr.  The CW Mondays 8:00/7:00c. Premieres February 17, 2014.

The CWThe Hundred” [RENEWED] (or “The 100”) post apocalyptic drama set hundred years after destruction of earth where now orbit based humankind survivors attempt Earth re-colonization by releasing hundred youngsters to the surface of the planet. Cast: Eliza Taylor, Henry Ian Cusick, Marie Avgeropoulos, Isaiah Washington, Christopher Larkin, Kelly Hu. The CW Wednesdays 9:00/8:00c. Starts March 19, 2014

NBCBelieve” [CANCELLED] (working title) Supernatural drama about girl in possession of hibernated superpowers and a man who escapes from prison to serve as her protector. From J.J. Abrams. Script purchase with pilot production commitment issued in September 2012. Cast: Johnny Sequoyah, Jake McLaughlin, Delroy Lindo, Jamie Chung, Sienna Guillory, Arian Moayed. NBC Sundays 9:00/8:00c. Comes Midseason 2014. Vanished from schedule as of May 18.

[Syfy]”Dominion”  [RENEWED] drama based on universe established by the 2010 movie “Legion” set set 25 years in the future after a war between angels and mankind. Cast: Christopher Egan, Tom Wisdom, Roxanne McKee, Alan Dale, Anthony Stewart Head, Luke Allen-Gale. Syfy Thursdays 9:00/8:00c. Started June 19, 2014.

HBO “Leftovers” [RENEWED] event drama following people that were left behind on earth during global rapture event. Damon Lindelof’s take on Tom Perrotta’s 2011 novel. In development since summer 2012. Pilot ordered in early February 2013. Peter Berg announced in April 2013 he will direct the pilot . Cast: Justin Theroux, Carrie Coon, Ann Dowd, Christopher Eccleston, Amanda Warren, Liv Tyler, Michael Gaston, Margaret Qualley. HBO Sundays 10:00/9:00c. Premiered June 29, 2014.

CBS “Extant”  [RENEWED] sci fi project about female astronaut returning from space mission with child. Bidding war between major networks is rumoured with winner expected to be issue straight to series commitment. Surfaced at the beginning of August 2013. 13 episode straight to series order at the beginning of October 2013. Cast: Halle Berry, Goran Visnjic, Hiroyuki Sanada. CBS Wednesdays 9:00/8:00c. Premiered July 9, 2014.

LIFETIME “The Lottery” [CANCELLED] dystopian drama set in the future world where women stopped having children and national lottery decides upon 100 surrogate mothers for fertilised embryos. Cast: Marley Shelton, Michael Graziadei, David Alpay, Athena Karkanis, Yul Vazquez, Shelley Conn, Martin Donovan. Lifetime Sundays 10:00/9:00c. Premiered July 20, 2014.

BBC America “Intruders” drama set around secret society seeking immortality by residing in bodies of other people. Based on Michael Marshall Smith’s book of the same title. Cast: John Simm, Mira Sorvino, Tory Kittles, James Frain. BBC Saturdays 10:00/9:00c. Starts August 23, 2014

[Netflix] [DELAYED] “Sense8” sci-fi drama from Wachowski siblings described only as “a gripping global tale of minds linked and souls hunted” . 10 episode order straight from pitch. Cast: Alfonso Herrera, Aml Ameen, Brian J Smith, Daryl Hannah, Doona Bae, Jamie Clayton. Delayed to 2015.



FOXSleepy Hollow” [RENEWED] Modern day adaptation of Ichabod Crane’s adventures with the notorious headless horseman mixing occult mystery with procedural. Ordered by FOX after initial unsuccessful pitch to The CW, CBS, ABC and NBC networks. Pilot ordered in late January 2013. Cast: Tom Mison, Nicole Beharie, Orlando Jones, Katia Winter, John Cho, Lyndie Greenwood. FOX Mondays 9:00/8:00c Started September 16, 2013

ABCOnce Upon A Time in Wonderland” [CANCELLED] (previously “Once: Wonderland”) – long expected “Once Upon A Time” spin off show project from late February 2013 originally based around character of Mad Hatter from series one. After  Sebastian Stan was not available to reprise the role the projects focus shifted towards unaired character of Alice (of the Wonderland fame). Casting started in late March 2013. Production began April 7. Cast: Sophie Lowe, Peter Gadiot,  Michael Socha, Emma Rigby, Paul Reubens.  ABC Thursdays 8:00/7:00c Beginning October 10, 2013.  Will not be renewed after season one, series finale aired on April 3, 2014.

The CWThe Originals” [RENEWED] direct “Vampire Diaries” spin off about origins of the blood sucking family in French Quarters of New Orleans. Characters were introduced as backdoor pilot (a stand alone episode of Vampire Diaries on April 25, 2013). More scripts ordered in October 2013 Cast: Daniel Gillies, Claire Holt, Joseph Morgan, Phoebe Tonkin, Charles Michael Davis, Danielle Campbell, Alexandra Metz. Picked to series at the end of April 2013. CW Tuesdays 8:00/7:00c. Premiered October 3, 2013. Renewed for second season in February 2014.

Premiered on October 6, 2013.

NBCDracula” [CANCELLED] costume drama about immortal vampire posing as American entrepreneur and arriving in London to seek revenge on those who betrayed him centuries earlier but falling hopelessly in love with a woman who he believes to be a reincarnation of his deceased wife. Reimagining of Bram Stoker novel. NBC with Sky Living UK production tandem. Script by Cole Haddon. Starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jessica de Gouw, Thomas Kretschmann and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. 10 episode initial order. NBC Fridays 10:00/9:00c Premiered October 25 2013. Not renewed for second season.

ShowtimePenny Dreadful”  [RENEWED] vampire hunter project set in 19th century London and involving ensamble of legendary characters such as as Van Helsing, Dorian Gray and Doctor Frankenstein in their quest of hunting vampires. Project is led by John Logan and Sam Mendes. In early January 2013 project has received a series commitment, with production to begin in London in the second half of 2013. Director assigned in mid June 2013. Cast: Reeve Carney, Rory Kinnear, Harry Treadaway. Expected in 2014.

[Syfy] “Bitten” [RENEWED] 13 episode Canadian werewolf drama originally produced for Entertainment One and focusing on the world’s only female werewolf trying to live as a human and working as a photographer in Toronto. Based on novel by  Kelley Armstrong. 13 episodes series one. Cast:  Laura Vandervoort, Greyston Holt, Greg Bryk, Paul Greene. Syfy Mondays at 10:00/9:00c. Premiered January 13, 2014.

Tamzin Merchant, Ashley Madekwe, Iddo Goldberg. WGN Sundays 10:00/9:00c.  Premiered on April 20, 2014.

FX “The Strain” [RENEWED] Vampiric/paranormal drama from  Guillermo del Toro. Based on books by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. Straight pitch to pilot order in mid September 2012. Cast: Mia Maestro, Kevin Durand, Corey Stoll, Lauren Lee Smith, Miguel Gomez, Jack Kesy, Sean Astin, Natalie Brown. FX Sundays 10:00/9:00c. Premiered July 13, 2014.

Starz “Outlander” [RENEWED] – fantasy romantic drama about woman traveling in time from 1945 to 1743 and falling in love in both “timezones”. Based on books by Diana Gabaldon. 16 episode order at the end of May 2013. Filming locations in Scotland were booked in July 2013. Expected in 2014. Cast: Caitriona Balfem, Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzies, Duncan Lacroix. Laura Donnelly and Lotte Verbeek. Saturdays 9:00/8:00c Started August 9 2014.
