/started September 1, 2014 – last update October 31, 2013/ This section started its life as an addition to our list of brand new TV shows 2013/2014 but it grew very quickly and kept on growing, so it’s now large enough to justify thread of its own. The following list includes only US/UK prime time shows, as usual cartoons, kids series and reality shows are excluded.
“Pilots ordered” is self-explanatory – in this section we list TV shows that received pilot order from networks. A “put pilot” indicates a contract to make a pilot where the studio agreed to substantial penalty should the pilot never be aired.
“Ordered/In Development” lists shows that received order to series but there is no clear confirmation if they will make it into 2013/2014 season or première in 2014/2015 .
“Early Stages/Script Purchases” section is an extension of Pilots section, scripts were purchased but there are no details about pilot or timeframe. Some of the scripts might be shelved for years.
“Pilot made but benched” section is a rejected pilot purgatory. These were pitched earlier on in the year, ordered as pilots then for whatever reason not made it into fall schedule, but not necessarily dead-dead. ReceBntly “Beauty and The Beast” was pulled out of that bag straight to midseason order.
And finally “Unconfirmed/Unsigned/Pitched” is the gossip mill. Ideas explored by producers and writers and pitched to the studios.
If you know about any TV shows not listed below or have new info about stuff already on the page, contact me via “Comments” feature below, I’m an equal opportunity information recycler and I’ll happily credit you on the page.
